While we're waiting for Fred to jump in with photos and stories about the 09 visit to Nikolaifeld, I'll share a couple of pics from 2007. It was our first stop after departing by bus from Dniep to Zap. The school house is still active as a school. We were fortunate to have the Principal come and open the school for us. We had a great visit with her and enjoyed touring the school.
What once was the Mennonite Church is now a school gymnasium. Do you think the former villagers would have approved of the new use? Shooting hoops in the school gym are 2nd cousins Rob Fransen and Jesse Epp-Fransen.
